One of the best retirement places in the Philippines is Tagaytay. Living in Tagaytay, Philippines on your retirement makes you feel a sense of balance. Tagaytay is of a comfortable proximity to Manila and it has all the amenities you need to live your day-to-day conveniently, however it’s not as congested. The pinch happens during the weekends, though when tourists flock Tagaytay. There is an influx of beach goers enjoying their holidays in the nearby beaches. It’s not so hot there, nonetheless because Tagaytay is slightly elevated. You can bask under the sun while relaxing at the pleasant weather. You can even save on electricity because you can limit your use of the air conditioner.
Although Baguio is cooler than Tagaytay, the fog that stays for days can be a disturbance, unlike in Tagaytay where the flowing breeze disperses the fog so that it’s gone in minutes. There are enough expats living and retiring in Tagaytay and the populace is used to seeing them. Expats thus enjoy a sense of safety and acceptance in the city.
Multi-story buildings are currently being built in Tagaytay. There’s a bit of a downside to this because the traffic is starting to bother the inhabitants. It might even worsen in the future. A true bus terminal has yet to be established in Tagaytay, that’s why outbound buses and those going to Manila park and line in Olivares Plaza. That’s the best place to go to if you want to board and make sure that you’re in the right bus. You can catch these same buses along the road, anyhow, but there’s a drawback to that. You’ll have limited time if you wait by the roadside for a bus and you’ll be under pressure about your decision to board or not when the vehicle stops. Get to know the buses and destinations in Tagaytay so that you wouldn’t have to be in that quandary. Be familiar with the signboards and all you’ll have to do is catch them along the road. These are the same buses that stop and queue in the Olivarez Plaza. They wait there to load more passengers. You’ll find the Olivarez Plaza bus terminal near the 7-11 store in front of McDonald’s. Note that there are two 7-11 stores found in that location. Don’t go to the store near the circle.
The Royale Tagaytay Estate is one of the best retirement places in the city. Properties are for sale in this location, and they are priced at around P7,000,000 and up. There is a small but challenging 9 hole golf course in the Royale Tagaytay Estate and residents can play free of charge. Country club membership makes you enjoy a range of facilities such as tennis, bowling, swimming pool and a nice restaurant. Within a few kilometers from the area, you’ll also find 3 or 4 large golf courses.
Living and retiring in Tagaytay is a smart decision. Whereas Manila is too overpowering, you’ll find that Tagaytay is a milder, nicer city. Although it tends to be congested during weekends and holidays, Tagaytay remains to be one of the best retirement places in the Philippines.
